Description

The overall aim is to increase knowledge of participants of the project in terms of methods of prevention, detection, prosecution and combating of cross-border organized crime including protecting the rights of trafficked persons. Implementation of the project enable the exchange of experiences and good practices between local services responsible for public safety. Example of activities: conducting seminars for local officials dealing with issue of human trafficking, training for local officials raising qualifications in prevention and combating cross-border crime, organization of a study visit to local mass event (“Woodstock Stop”), practical exercises on coordination of the activities of services during the seizure of a large object, specialized trainings for local law enforcement officers (including i. a. language courses, trainings in computer forensics). Project also foresees public awareness campaign. In order to achieve the objectives of the project it is planned to purchase following devices: unpiloted aerial vehicle (drone), megaphones, portable sound system, wireless inspection cameras.

Summary of project results

The core objective of the project was to enhance the abilities of forces and employees in preventing and counteracting cross-border and organized crimes as well as trafficking in human beings. The project had 3 main goals: - Prevention of trafficking in human beings and the support delivered to the victims in Lubuskie Voivodship; - Enhancing the consciousness and efficiency of services actions in counteraction cross-border crimes; - Raise of Border Guards and public administration employees qualifications regarding fighting with organized cross-border crimes. Within the framework of the project, several activities have been prepared: - Social campaign – TV spot nationwide broadcasted, radio spot broadcasted locally; - Publication concerning the project distributed in print – 500 pc. Leaflets on the trafficking in human beings – 100 000 pc.; - Trainings to raise the qualifications of the officers and public administration employees regarding cross-border crimes – 110 participants; - Trainings to raise the language qualifications of officers and to raise the efficiency of the cooperation with international partners in counteracting cross-border organized crimes – 56 participants; - Series of seminars concerning trafficking in human beings – 304 participants; - Trainings on potential restoration of border control with elements of the approach to unsubordinated people – 150 participants; - Trainings on practical coordination of services activities during the intervention in large building of organized crime group – 80 participants; - Study visit during large mass event – 113 participants; - Training for representatives of local governments to raise qualifications concerning revealing and counteracting cross-border crimes – 108 participants; - Trainings on investigation computer technology for Border Guards – 6 participants; - Training for the employees of Lubuskie Province Governor’s Office on documents forgery – 22 participants; - English language course organized in Great Britain for Border Guards officers – 10 participants, 4 week period; - Organization of two conferences; - Elaboration and publication of procedures tool guide for public institutions on trafficking in human beings counteracting;
