Description

The main objective of the project is to increase the capacity of services to prevent and combat cross-border and organized crime, including trafficking in human beings and fight against itinerant criminal groups through trainings organized for judges and public prosecutors in: cross-border drug crime, combating and preventing illegal migration, trafficking in human beings, cross-border organized crime and cross-border crime involving economic relations. The project also includes two expert workshops, two conferences and the working out of five components of knowledge for individual training modules. Training public prosecutors and judges adjudicating criminal cases will strengthen the capacity of Polish authorities, including courts and public prosecutor’s offices in preventing cross-border and organized crime, including crime involving trafficking in human beings and fight against itinerant criminal groups.

Summary of project results

The main goal of the project was to enhance the ability of services (prosecutor's offices and judicial staff) in organized cross-border criminality preventing and combating, including human trafficking and the migration of criminal groups. Within the framework of the project several activities have been prepared: 1. Total number of 46 trainings dedicated to judges, judicial secretaries, judges assistants, prosecutors and their assistants as well as assessors across Poland have been organized between 1st April 2015 and 30 April 2016. 2357 people have been trained within 5 themes: - 10 trainings “Cross-border drug criminality” – 540 participants; - 6 trainings “Combating and preventing illegal migration” – 291 participants; - 10 trainings “Human trafficking” – 510 participants; - 10 trainings “Organized cross-border criminality” – 491 participants; - 10 trainings “Cross-border criminality concerning economic turnover” – 525 participants 2. The growth of project participants awareness concerning organized cross-border criminality combating, including human trafficking and the migration of criminal groups – affected 85,46 % of target group 3. The organization of professional workshops – 2 editions 4. The organization of conferences: - Opening conference – 119 participants - Final conference – 112 participants 5. The elaboration and print of 5 types of compendium (total number of 3000 pc.) for participants of project and final conference.
