Description

The purpose of the project is to organise 11 specialist trainings in computer forensics targeted at 90 officers and employees of Forensic Laboratories and the Police Crime Intelligence Division in six Voivodship Police Headquarters in Poland. The trainings will improve the knowledge and experience of the officers, in particular within the scope of computer forensics. Highly qualified personnel will be able to obtain information inaccessible with the use of traditional investigative methods, thus making it possible to faster and more effectively respond to the dangers. Currently, Internet-based crime is a form of cross-border crime and has become the object of cooperation of various international institutions, including different countries’ police forces. Training of Polish specialists in this field will ensure more dynamic combating of cross-border crimes and Poland’s presence as an equal partner of European law enforcement authorities.

Summary of project results

The main goal of the project was to enhance ability of the Police in organized and cross-border criminality preventing and combating by training and courses on investigative computer technology. The activities within the structure of projects were to: - Develop police structures to strengthen the achievements of Schengen Zone, - Increase the ability of the Police in organized and cross-border criminality preventing and combating with use of network as a main channel of communication, - Trainings based on case studies resulted in better coordination and cooperation of services, - Support of the coordinated prevention actions resulted in better efficiency in organized and cross-border criminality preventing and combating - Strengthening of the cooperation of the stakeholders responsible for preventing and combating organized and cross-border criminality, - Investigative computer technology specialists education. Within the framework of the project several activities have been prepared: - 11 trainings on investigative computer technology, data recovering, surveillance with computer technology, hacking, automatization of reporting and data analyzing, physical and logical mobile equipment analyzing, video forensics, finger-print technology, acquisition of the data from cars and information on non-authorized use of certified equipment, - Trainings for 90 officers on Schengen acquis communautaire and the use of Schengen equipment, - 4 working meetings, - Initial and final project conference,
