Description
The project is based on the conduct of artistic workshops in Poland and in Norway, resulting in the presentation of performances carried out jointly by the project leader Krakow Opera and Norwegian partner: Trondheim Symphony Orchestra, under the artistic supervision of renowned artists. During the workshops, 100 young artists will operate under the guidance of renowned artists. The final product will be 4 performances in Krakow and 4 performances in Trondheim: 7000 spectators in total. Thanks to the project, a partnership of professional music institutions, jointly employing several hundred people, will develop. The main objective of the project is to relate to transnational cooperation and to promote cultural and artistic diversity within the European cultural heritage through the cooperation between Norwegian and Polish cultural institutions, resulting in new ways to develop audiences in the area of classical music and improve people’s access to this culture in both countries of implementation.
Summary of project results
Opera is a form of art offering a wide range of artistic experience, however, the average viewer's access to it is limited. The project improved access to the high culture to he communities of the Małopolskie region through presentation of opera classics. Joint implementation of the project was also help to establish cooperation between institutions in the future and will stimulate international exchange of experience and creative initiatives between artists. The project helped to reduce economic and social disparities within the EEA, as the realized performances increased public access to the opera and the art workshops will contribute to the professional development of young theater artists and increased their job opportunities.
Summary of bilateral results
Thanks to the cooperation of Polish and Norwegian institutions in the show and master workshop, the relationship between the Partner and Poland will be strengthened. The realization of the opera, created by Polish and Norwegian artists, contributed to strengthening the ties of artistic communities and classical music audiences in both countries. The project started a collaboration between artists on the verge of the start of professional lives and renowned artists from both countries. The mobility of Norwegian and Polish young artists increased. The project will continue further cooperation between Polish and Norwegian musicians. Trondheim Symphony Orchestra was responsible for supporting the opera on the musical level, namely the preparation of the choir and the orchestra to perform in Norway. In addition, partner was responsible for the organization of auditions for soloists in Trondheim and the implementation of workshops for conductors. All the events in Norway, including the premiere and additional performances were prepared by the partner organization.
