Description

Within this project Mościce Art Centre aims to achieve a more equal spread of people’s access to cultural events in the region. It stimulates active public participation and enhances education through attention for cultural competences. The main aims are increased cultural competence, contributing to a more open society through experience and understanding of different cultures through dance theatre. The project presents professional culture and dance art and other dance activities to app.10 000 people(local community,incl. young adults,cultural tourists). Mościce Art Centre works together with Ingun Bjørnsgaard Prosjekt which supports it to stage a spectacle, promote information on and find candidates to conduct theatrical workshops, organize an exhibition, present a film festival “Dance my life and love” and a documentary about choreographer Hege Haagenrud, provide information about dance theatres in Norway and promote the „Multimedia dance trail”.

Summary of project results

The purpose of the Project was realization the 3bedition of the "International Dance Theatre Festival OPEN STAGE" - event of international reach presenting the art of dance in a theatrical dimension. It consisted of 14 events implemented both in Poland (Tarnow) and Norway (Oslo), which included: spectacles, workshops , meetings, exhibition, Multimedia Dance Trail and film festival "Dance my life & love". The main part of the Project was Festival OPEN STAGE. The Festival lasted from 11th to 27th Oct 2013. It presented 8 Polish and foreign theaters: three from Poland, two from Norway and one from Israel, France and Belgium. The festival was honored by two ambassadors - Ewa Wycichowska and Jacek Przybyłowicz. As a part of the Festival OPEN STAGE was held film festival "Dance my life & love" showing various film forms: the story, study, document and report. 34 films from around the world were submitted. The best title was "Sometimes I dream that I fly" by Aneta Popiel-Machnicka. An important activity in the project was a work on the Multimedia Dance Trail (www.danceguide.eu) - area dedicated to dance enthusiasts. Another important part of the Project was an exhibition which purpose was to present the art of dance - shown at the pictures of one of the most famous Norwegian photographers Knut Bry. Its opening took place during the inauguration of the Festival. In September and October took place dance theater workshops led by the Norwegian choreographer Hege Haagenrud from Oslo (Norway). She had an assistant in person of Iwona Pasinska (choreographer) who in September selected 18 of the best young novice dancers. Workshops included 100 hours. The course ended up with the production of H. Haagenrud’s spectacle entitled "ON SILENCE". Thanks to the workshops was possible to made a documentary telling about the work of H. Haagenrud in Tarnow and a young dancers passion of dance. The result of the Project is also the book titled "The body as text. Anthology of Polish dance criticism after 1989 "by Jadwiga Majewska. Furthermore, there were implemented 4 educational videos titled TV Magazine "Open Stage" telling about all theaters participating in the Festival.

Summary of bilateral results

Partner of Moscice Art Centre (MAC) was a Norwegian theater Ingun Bjornsgaard Prosjekt from Oslo represented by Kirre Arenberg. Cooperation between the Parties has been placed with due diligence and in accordance with the application form. Partner supported MAC essentially in implementation of the Project by serving his advice and experience in the realization projects of international significance: he offered spectacle that has been shown during the Festival, handed MAC promotional information about his own institution, artists and spectacle "Omega and the Deer", cared for the promotion of the Project in Norway (included promotion of the film festival "Dance my life and love"). Partner also presented candidates from the Norwegian choreographers who will conduct workshops of contemporary dance theater and candidates from Norwegian artists, whom MAC will organize an exhibition. Partner provided information about a number of dance theaters and artists working in Norway, which has been used as a database in "Multimedia Dance Trail". Partner was also responsible for the organization of the festival film screenings - the projection of the best film review of "Dance - my life and love" in Oslo and the screening of a documentary film showing the work of the Norwegian choreographer in Tarnow.
