Description

Project is needed because is necessity to lower the power consumption and hence of both running costs of the hospital without decreasing of patient standard treatment and the staff serving them The crucial objective of the project is to increase energy efficiency of the building of the hospital, reduce emissions of air pollution, satisfying the needs of the hospital into air conditioning cold. Applying heat pumps and thermomodernization will increase the financial effectiveness of the hospital too. Project assumes exchange or modernization of window frames in the amount of 199 pieces. Modernizing internal installations (warm functional water, central heating), installing heat pumps, perform the Installation for geothermal energy use and exchange of the lighting on energy-efficient lighting. The modernization works will run rationally in use of raw material and building materials at minimizing waste incurred. All work will be supervised and managed by professional staff and contractors will be selected by public tender. Benefit of the project can relate to Hospital PRO-MEDICA" in Ełk, patients and the local community. Projects material scope has been extended, additional works have been co-financed under NFM

Summary of project results

Project was needed due to the necessity to lower the power consumption and costs of the hospital without decreasing standards of patients treatment. The crucial objective of the project was to increase energy efficiency of the hospital buildings, reduce emissions of air pollution. Applying heat pumps and thermomodernization should also increase the financial effectiveness of the hospital. Thermomodernisational works covered 6 hospitals buildings, within the project replaced were 340 old windows, interior installations (including ventilation) were modernised. Installed were 2 heat pumps, power management system and windows shading devices. One installation aimed at using geothermal energy has been made and interior lighting was exchanged for ecological one. Investment allowed to reduce CO2 emission (986 Mg/year) and to increase energy production from RES (106 MWh/year). The modernization works run rationally in use of raw material and building materials. All works were supervised and managed by professional staff, contractors were selected by public tender. Benefit of the project realted to Hospital PRO-MEDICA" in Ełk, patients and the local community. Projects material scope has been extended, additional works have been co-financed under NFM
