Description

The building requires improvements in order to function properly for its current purpose. Built in the 19th century, this building contains very little modern technology for proper air cleansing, nor is it very energy efficient. The project anticipates comprehensive improvements to the building’s energy-efficiency, and will lead to a reduction of CO2 emission and an increase in the use of renewable energy. When the thermo-modernisation is completed, the target value of CO2 emission will be 1,389.99 Mg/year, and the energy drawn from renewable sources will amount to 2,195.67 MWh/year. The project will also significantly reduce the building’s heating costs. To attain these goals, walls and ceilings will be insulated, windows and doors will be replaced, the heating system will be modernized, and the lighting upgraded. The beneficiary of the project is the Dzierżoniów District (the owner of the building), and the centre’s pupils, who are children with physical and mental disorders.

Summary of project results

A need for investment was caused by technical condition of the building (School and Education Centre) which was built in the 19th century and wasn't energy efficient. Project aim was to reduce CO2 emission and building’s heating costs and to increase the use of renewable energy. Thermomodernisational works covered i.a. replacement of windows (263) and doors (4), insulation of 925 m2 of partition and modernistation of interior installations. 2 biomass boilers have been installed and interior lighting has been exchanged for ecological one (725 lighting points exchanged). Investment allowed to reduce CO2 emission (1390 Mg/year) and to increase energy production from RES (2196 MWh/year). Thanks to projects implementation costs of buildings usage will be lower.
