Description

The project is a direct response to the very high energy consumption of Knurow Town Hall, primarily resulting from a lack of wall insulation, the use of wooden window frames and steel doors. Additionally some rooms have an out-of-order gravitational ventilation system. The purpose of the investment is to improve the energy efficiency of Knurow Town Hall building, on 5 Ogana Street. Improved energy efficiency will contribute to improving the environmental profile and reduce the operating costs related to the maintenance of the Town Hall building. This will be achieved by the thermal insulation of the external walls, the ceilings and the ground level walls, and the replacement of the wooden window frames and steel doors in the building. In addition, a mechanical ventilation system with heat recovery will be installed. As a result, energy consumption will be reduced and heating costs decreased, while there will also be a reduction of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) into the atmosphere. The project primarily benefits the inhabitants of Knurow by improving of the natural environment (reduction of carbon dioxide emission to the atmosphere) and reducing the municipal maintenance costs of the Town Hall.

Summary of project results

The project is a direct response to the very high energy consumption of Knurow Town Hall, primarily resulting from a lack of wall insulation, the use of wooden window frames and steel doors. Additionally some rooms have had an out-of-order gravitational ventilation system. The purpose of the investment was to improve the energy efficiency of Knurow Town Hall building, on 5 Ogana Street. Improved energy efficiency contributes to improving the environmental profile and reduces the operating costs related to the maintenance of the Town Hall building. Within the project over 2 thousands of m2 of partition were insulated, over 100 windows and doors were replaced. Ventilation has been modernised. Investment allowed to reduce CO2 emission (191 Mg/year) and increase energy production from RES (101 MWh/year). The project primarily benefits the inhabitants of Knurow by improving of the natural environment (reduction of carbon dioxide emission to the atmosphere) and reducing the municipal maintenance costs of the Town Hall.
