Description

The project is needed in order to prevent, reduce and as far as possible eliminate pollution arising from industrial activities. Environmental protection is the sole purpose of implementing the project. The underlying investment will significantly affect the reduction of emitted pollutants: SO2 and dust, so it is greatly beneficial for air quality. With the implementation of the project, flue gases from three boilers will be reduced to levels below 200 mg SO2/Nm3 and in addition to that, dust levels will be reduced to levels below 20 mg dust/Nm3. The current levels of concentration in the exhaust gas are 830 mg SO2/Nm3 and 35 mg dust/Nm3. This will be achieved through the construction of a flue gas desulphurisation plant (FGD systems). Wet scrubbers, especially the limestone-gypsum processes are the leading FGD technologies, which EDF Poland is applying in all its companies in Poland. The environment and the local community are the main beneficiaries of the project..
