Description

The need for implementation of the project results from expectations and needs of the society and the implementation of regulations on reducing carbon dioxide emissions. The buildings covered by the project are three public schools, all consuming lot of heat energy. The objective of the project is the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions and to increase energy production from renewable sources. The implementation of the project will reduce CO2 emissions by around 580 Mg per annum and an increase in the production of energy from renewable sources by around 30 MWh per annum. In the renovated buildings there will be insulated exterior walls, doors and windows will be replaced, and the heat source will be changed and fitted with thermostatic valves. The plan is also to mount solar panels on the roofs of the buildings. The main beneficiaries of the project will be the public schools and their schoolchildren, as well as the local community by removing sources of significant amounts of carbon dioxide emissions.

Summary of project results

Experience gained during it will be helpful in the future while implementation of next activities. It is worth to add, that the Beneficiary received PO approval to extend original material scope of the project and manage to thermomodernised additional kindergarten building. Thanks to the project, CO2 emission has been reduced (800.24 Mg/year), in total modernised were 4 buildings. Energy production from RES amounted over 42 MWh/year.
