Description

In Tarnów there are many communal facilities in poor conditions that consume a lot of energy. This results in substantial air pollution. Improving the energy efficiency at communal facilities will result in the reduction of emissions of air pollution and improvement of the air quality in the city Tarnów and its surrounding area. As a result of the implementation of the project, CO2 emissions will be reduced by 2,396.62 Mg/year and energy production from renewable energy sources will grow by 81.931 MWh/year. In this project 10 buildings will be upgraded. The recipients of the project are students, their families and all the inhabitants of Tarnów and the surrounding area. The implementation of the project will improve the air quality in the region, which will help to improve the health of its inhabitants. Projects material scope has been extended, additional works have been co-financed under EEA fund.

Summary of project results

In Tarnów there are many communal facilities in poor conditions that consume a lot of energy. This results in substantial air pollution. Improving the energy efficiency at communal facilities that were part of the project has resulted in the reduction of emissions of air pollution and improvement of the air quality in the city Tarnów and its surrounding area. Thermomodernisational works covered 15 public utility buildings (including schools, kindrgartens, workshop centre). Within the project over 38 thousands of m2 of partition were insulated, almost 400 old windows and doors were replaced. Interior installations were modernised. The Beneficiary fulfill also one connection to district heating, installed 48 solar collectors, photovoltaic cells and 5 heat pumps. Interior lighting was exchanged for ecological one. Investment allowed to reduce CO2 emission (4417 Mg/year) and to increase energy production from RES (105 MWh/year). Projects material scope has been extended, additional works have been co-financed under EEA fund. Due to the projects scale and amount of achieved results, project can be considered as very significant for whole PL04 Programme.
