Description

The purpose of the project is to demonstrate the uniqueness of the region, to emphasise the need to work “together despite boundaries” in accordance with the principle of sustainable development. The project will enhance knowledge and popularization of the biodiversity of Roztocze – the cross-border cultural and natural region, building the regional identity based on the rational management of natural values of Roztocze. It will increase the regional awareness with regard to the need to protect the natural heritage, including biodiversity, developing friendly attitudes towards the environment, preservation of valuable plant and animal species and their habitats. Moreover, the expected result is to improve the attractiveness and knowledge of Roztocze. This will be achieved by training and education about nature, information and promotion in the field of nature conservation, building the regional identity and developing of the Roztocze brand. The project will benefit Roztocze inhabitants on both sides of the border, inhabitants of the Lubelskie Voivodeship and tourists visiting the Roztocze National Park and Roztocze.

Summary of project results

The overall goal of the project has been achieved. Target value of the indicator - The number of people who have participated in educational activities and promoting biodiversity conservation has reached the planned value. The increase in ecological awareness was achieved through the organization of workshops, bicycle rallies, exhibitions, radio broadcasts, promotional spots. The implementation of the project has contributed to the integration of environments that have a positive impact on nature conservation and tourism in the border area. Experience gained in project promotion will allow better selection of tools in future projects.
