Within the framework of the project, SIA VIZULO plans to develop specific, highly energy efficient LED luminaires for airport runways and territories, which combine the technological solutions of energy efficient LED luminaires and specific luminaires for airport runways and territories. The competitive advantages of the new product will result in (1) unique optical system, (2) higher energy efficiency and light intensity indicators, (3) conformity to international airport standards ICAO and FAA and (4) ensuring longevity of the housing and the product. The product will be developed within the Green Technology incubator.
Summary of project results
Latvian company SIA Vizulo received Norway grant support in amount 136 462 EUR for the development of highly energy efficient LED luminaries for airport runways and territories. In the segment of luminaires for airport runways production there is small competition as well product range in the market. The company created competitive luminaries that involves unique optical system, higher energy efficiency and light intensity indicators. New type luminaries comparing with existing airport luminaries can be used with higher efficiency LED spotlights with power from 300W-700W, that ensures power saving up to 70%. In total the use of new type luminaries can save 1,1910 t CO2/year by one luminary.
