The aim of the Project - to decrease social inequality and spread of infectious diseases by implementing innovative social service for women sex workers in Riga was reached. The target groups of the project were Social exclusion and poverty at risk population, including: 71 woman sex workers. As well as NVO’s representing the above groups of people's rights and interests, including: 8 members, 18 employees, 9 volunteers. The following results have been achieved: •With individually tailored care method, 71 women involved (initially planned 50) in prostitution were given social help, as well as public health promoting services and medical treatment (consultations and examinations). This reduced the further development of infections and helped in finding a solution in cases when a disease was diagnosed. The experts involved in this Project had regular meetings led by psychologist in the supervision group, which helped in team building and solving the most complicated cases of their clients. All the information about the services provided by the project was published in the escort web pages, also 140 text messages were sent out to mobile phones. •An training seminar was held in Riga for all social workers of the suburbs of Riga, for the workers of municipality of Riga and for the representatives of the Ministries of Welfare, Health, Interior and Justice. The Project’s closing ceremony was held. The society was informed about the Project and it’s achievements through the mass media. The need of a Project developed when analysing spread of infection diseases among different risk groups where sex workers is one of the highest risk group.
