Description

The target group of the project is low-income, unemployed and self-employed persons. The project addresses social inequality issue. In order to reach the goal of decreasing the social inequality the main project objectives are to promote the growth of self-esteem and creative uplift, to train the members of the target group to take a part in the operation of topic-related webpage www.orudi.lv. These activities will promote their social inclusion and reduce the inequality in the society. Innovation of the project is documentary stories of craftsmen success that have been created to inspire the participants to be more active and creative. The expected results of the project are to develop competitive craftsmen that could be achieved by learning new skills at the workshops, attending seminars and inspiring themselves by watching craftsmen’s documentary stories. The partners of the project will provide for participants for the workshops.

Summary of project results

The issue of the social inequality was solved within the project. The aim was set to develop the growth of the self-confidence, creativity and participation in activities of the www.orudi.lv/ of the target group in this way stimulating their social inclusion and decrease inequality. There were 11 creative workshops organized within a project, 3 of which took place under the guidance of the association ‘Sukrums’, 3 were organized at the project partners the association ‘Kūzuls’, and 5 workshops took place under the leadership of the other project partner the association ‘Saulessvece’. 50 documentary stories about the success of active and creative masters of their craft were processed, the exhibition of the photos was organized, as well as the target group went on an experience exchange trip in Latgale and took part in the SRS Educational and Informative seminars. The main result achieved within the project is the creation of the competitive craftsmen that was promoted by the target group acquiring new skills and knowledge in workshops, attending the informative seminars and drawing inspiration from an exchange of experience trip and watching the documentary stories. The target group within the project was people from Baltinava region at risk of social exclusion and poverty. There were 177 people of the target group enabled in total. The associations ‘Kūzuls’ and ‘Saulessvece’ were chosen to be the project partners in order to implement the project. Each partner was required so that the people from the target group would have a wider range of opportunities to develop skills of various crafts. Accordingly, the partners had a great influence on the achieved project results.
