Description

The project aims to promote social inclusion of 66 children and young people in Ogre County. This will be done by organizing classes for improvement of social and digital skills, and providing qualitative free time using LEGO robotics elements. The Project's main activities include development of a methodology, curriculum and learning materials for an innovative service - qualitative free time together with LEGO, approbation of the service during seminars, classes and camps and improvement service taking in account results from approbation.

Summary of project results

The project addressed the problem of after school activities for children and young people from social risk families. The project aimed to promote social inclusion for 70 children and young people in Ogre County by providing after school classes for improvement of social and digital skills. Outcome of the project is innovative educational after school service. This service uses LEGO robotics elements as as motivators for inclusion. This service includes development of the methodology, curriculum and learning materials. Free access is provided to all materials in the project website roboti.aimc.lv. 95 children and young people (instead of planned 70) approbated this after school service during 3 seminars, 30 classes and 5 camps. 95 children and young people which had risk of social exclusion improved their quality of live. Moreover, they had strengthen their democratic values. Project partner Ogre County Social Service had experience and knowledge in the field of reducing social exclusion the project partner developed methodology of social inclusion. Also the project partner communicated with task group and invited children and youth to participate in the project activities. The invitation for task group was distributed in the project and county websites also.
