Description

Within the project it is planned to provide educating and socially inclusive art classes to young people at risk of social exclusion and to people that are disabled. An innovative model of art classes will be developed and tested, which is based on the study of connections between contemporary art and other disciplines and which is fundamentally different from the former tradition of art education in Latvia. The art classes will be based on a multidisciplinary approach, the curriculum will be developed by art lecturers in cooperation with representatives of other fields, like, science, technology, etc.The project is aimed at integrating young people from various society groups in a joint meaningful activity to promote their social integration, interest and motivation, creativity, social responsibility and artistic initiative. As a result of the project. new education programme and learning aid will be developed and approved. Our target group is young people at risk of social exclusion and disabled people.

Summary of project results

The project was started by assessing the overall situation and offer extra-curricular classes in art for children and young people, different from traditional art lesson content. The project idea was to offer educational and socially inclusive art classes for young people who are exposed to social exclusion, as well as people with disabilities in the development and testing of innovative art classes model based contemporary art and other disciplines (such as the natular sciences, history, design etc.) interrelationships research and fundamentally different from the old traditions ofLatvian art education. The project has been developed in a diverse range of contemporary art teachin methodological materials, as well as prepared two educational programs - Contemporary art and research, Design and research. These materilas and photos from the host www.triskrasas.lv are available. Main results: in the project activities have taken part 124 children and young people; young creative results are presented to a wider audience - created 3 exhibitions and 2 measures with creative activities; developed 2 educational programs base on innovative techniques; organized 5 dissemination workshops based on project experience.
