Description

The project will promote expansion of association’s operation actively participating in drafting of environmental policy and normative acts of the Republic of Latvia and making use of the intellectual potential of its members, increase significance of the association, as well as to increase the number of active members of the association, promote participation of inhabitants of Vidzeme Region in maintaining and restoring natural and cultural heritage, especially focusing on development of voluntary service. Within the project draft normative acts will be developed, number of active members will be increased, participation and sustainability of inhabitants will be increased, and more natural environment will be promoted in Vidzeme, therefore the main activities within the project are organisation of environmental projects and participation in drafting environmental policy planning documents and normative acts. The target group is young people of Vidzeme Region and other inhabitants

Summary of project results

Direct objectives of associations "Balta Daba" action programm were totally achieved: to provide associations functional authority by supplementing organization of local and regional environmental activities with active participation in the development of environmental policy and regulations, tus using members intellectual potential; To further advance the count and calibre of ex-post projects, and to increase the count of active members to 60; To promote participation for residents of the Vidzeme region in the restoration and preservation of environmental and cultural values. The programm took place in the Vidzeme region in those provinces suuounding Gaujas river basin and Valmiera. The main associations activities were environmental activities - joint work in nature, provision of environmental law consultations for environmental NGOs, enviromental awareness raising activities, participation in developing environmental polocies and regulations, training courses and others.
