Description

The project promoter VízTEC is the region's leading company in the field of the production of chemicals used for the treatment of the municipal and industrial wastewater. This project aims to improve the manufacturing technology of an existing water treatment product (ferric chloride, FeCl3) and to develop a so-called low-energy production technology of polialuminum chloride. The new technology is more energy efficient and the amount of waste – usually hazardous chemical waste - generated during manufacturing is significantly lower. The activities of the project include experimental development and procurement of the necessary equipment as well. Following the planning and research phase, the promoter buys 4 reactors and a smoke purifier and installs the new technology. In one hand it means an improvement in the production of waste-water treatment chemical (ferric chloride) regarding energy efficiency and the decreased waste production. On the other hand due to the new technology the promoter can start the production of drinking-water treatment chemical (polialuminum chloride) with a significantly decreased energy consumption compared to the present industry practice. The main target group is the waste water treatment plants as by the use of the product developed in the project their water treatment processes could be more optimised and environmentally friendly.

Summary of project results

The goal of this project was a technology that brings with energy efficiency and a decrease in the amount of waste generated in manufacturing. This project developed manufacturing technology of an existing water treatment product (ferric chloride, FeCl3) and to produce a so-called low-energy production technology of polialuminum chloride. The activities of the project included experimental development and procurement of machinery as well.
