Description

The ELTE would like to enhance the cooperation with the EGT countries, including Norway. ELTE has been in connection with Norway for several years now and the country is also very popular around our students. In spite of these very few of our students have the opportunity to participate in part-time study program in Norwegian universities. In this scholarship program, we could have the possibility to have more students and teachers who can take part in mobility programs. The aim of the project is that in the year 2015-2016 8 students from ELTE could participate in a half-year course in Norwegian partner universities and 2 Norwegian students could come to ELTE to study. The program also includes for one Hungarian student to take part in a summer university course in Norway and one student from Norway can take part in a summer course in ELTE. In this project we are also planning a mobility for teacher, which means that 2 teachers from ELTE could teach in a Norwegian university for 1-1- week as guest teacher and the ELTE also welcomes 1 guest teacher from Norway for 1 week. We are focusing on those students, who cannot participate in Erasmus programs because of financial difficulties, but who are interested in Norwegian part-time study program. The aim of the student and teacher mobility and the whole project is to establish a long lasting institutional co-operation between ELTE and Norwegian universities.

Summary of project results

We would have liked to enhance the cooperation with the EEA countries, including Norway. ELTE has been in connection with Norway for several years now and the country is very popular around our students. In spite of these very few of our students have the opportunity to participate in study program in Norwegian universities. In this scholarship program, we had the possibility to have more students and teachers who could take part in mobility programs. One of our students participated in a student mobility program for studies, two students had the possibility to realize a practice and 17 students travelled for short-term program. Three teachers visited a partner institution. We were focusing on those students, who cannot participate in Erasmus programs because of financial difficulties, but who are interested in Norwegian part-time study program. The aim of the student and teacher mobility and the whole project was to establish a long-lasting institutional cooperation between ELTE and Norwegian universities.

Summary of bilateral results

Our cooperation with EEA partner universities are dating back for decades therefore new cooperation establishment was not necessary. The project contributed strengthening the cooperation between the Institute of Scandinavian Studies of ELTE and Oslo University as a whole study group could visit Oslo University and take part in a special course tailored to the needs of the students and visiting colleagues. The project was based on a series of courses on Norwegian grammar, culture and literature arranged by The International Summer School (ISS) at the University of. The ISS has been our partner for more than twenty years, so there was no need for a Preparatory Visit. The project contributed to strengthen the bilateral relation between the two institutes and the already existing cooperation between the two institutes. This cooperation will continue, students at the Scandinavian Department will have the possibility to apply for scholarship at ISS in the future as well, and we invited our partners from ISS to Budapest in order to plan new ways of cooperation, such as workshops and seminars and short term exchange projects with participation of colleagues from Oslo.
