Description

There has not been any break-through in the field of the knowledge and practice about human and citizenship rights since the 89-90s regime change. There is no change in the attitude of up-growing generations and the educational system does not support this kind of enlightenment thus the youth are not properly informed about the public life and they cannot define their own opinion. They seem to be passive about social problems, and they do not know much about their rights and obligations. The main objective of the project is to form the attitude of the target group, to improve their citizenship consciousness, to make them more active in refusing exclusion, racism and forming the future of their society. The project promoter will renovate a building what will be the community space where the public clubs and contest, the democracy-building camp will take place. A methodology publication and a document about the good governance will be edited. Evaluation meetings regularly will be organized within the organization. The target group includes youth living in Tolna county (about 30000 people). The project aims to reach parents, pedagogies and civil communities.

Summary of project results

The main objective of the project was to form the attitude of the target group, to improve their citizenship consciousness, to make them more active in refusing exclusion, racism and forming the future of their society. “Contemporary Pilvax (KPx)” titled civic club was established and opened for youth. They could participate in a workshop in which they designed the image and the club house was evolved. At the beginning there was a low interest about the club, what changed in the summer-time. The thematic event, KP(arty)x was the first event which attracted more youth thus 3 more similar club events were organized. Youth could watch 9 theatre performances and participated the belonging workshops which were leaded usually by the performing actors and actresses. The performances had a positive effect on youth and so to show that youth organized 4 thematic actions against addiction, indifference, poverty and racism. 49 youth participated in the 5-day-long democracy-building camp which was organized in October, 2015. In the camp youth could talk about social problems, they processed the topics with the help of drama pedagogic methods. As a result youth become more aware of social issues and able to make decisions instead of following other’s instructions. A 4+1 rounded competition was launched for secondary schools in the county. Personal meetings, calls for competitions, presentations and posters popularized the competition. Altogether 20 groups applied, the best 7 groups were shortlisted for the final round. The competition was so exciting, that a school from Gyöngyös (which town is not in the surroundings, not in the same county and not even in the region) applied. The final round was in Szekszárd with the participation of 146 youth, volunteers and teachers. Some company offered gifts for the first 3 rated groups and the representatives even visited the event. Several other programs were organized in order to transfer the used methods to relevant organizations, to lower the gap between generations and to ensure media appearances for the project. The Additional Grant made it possible to realize drama workshops for youth. 2 trainers held 34 occasions in 2 places with the participations of 4-19 youth. Thematic of these workshops was elaborated according to the previous feedback of youth.
