Summary of project results

Upon getting to know the women situation they realised that women have way more and deeper problems behind their addictions. Lots of them have left school early due to family problems, have been abused mentally or sexually, have been prostitualized, or have been victimized by a spouse, family member or strangers. However, they could hardly find any data covering the real number of these women, detailing their problems and needs. This project aimed at data collection and at creating the methodical foundations of an institution that can answer the real needs of these women. The objectives were the following: getting a clear picture of the number, the problems and the needs of women with special needs detailed above; visiting institutions with experiences in working with these women; developing a method that can be used in answering the needs of these women; for their team to get a deeper insight of the institutional web that partly answers the needs of these women. Getting publicity for their organisation, for their work, and the problems these women are faced with. These goals they fully reached.By hosting a conference, workshops and having appearances in the local media (newspapers, radio, online media) they were able to have publicity of the topic. Also, they were able to get in contact with lots of women (between 20 and 30) from the target group and directed them to providers of various possibilities of professional help.
