Description

The project is needed to correlate the pensioners’ clubs activities with life. The members hardly learn anything about IT from each other. The aim of the project is to adapt the activities of Arrabona Pensioner’s Club to the present opportunities and to change the club management aspects. They want to make the life of the 44 clubs more colourful and attractive. New members should be involved into club management, the number of managers should be doubled to find representatives for new activities. IT should be used for information flow in the 44 clubs. Within the frames of the project the clubs get to know: the registry process of a civil organization, project writing, the Internet, the electronic administration, and acquire the skill to study from each other. The results are useful for 44 participants, but the changes can be perceived by 2000 pensioners, and affect other 82 regional clubs where further 3000 pensioners can get to know the changes.

Summary of project results

The project was needed to contribute to the activities of pensioners’ clubs. The members hardly knew anything about IT. The aim was to educate the leaders. Now they know how IT can improve a life of a club. The impact of the training was the changed approach of the club leaders. They learned from each other that by sharing leading tasks better results can be achieved. One of the results was that the computer knowledge of the participants has reached a level that is required for leaders. Even those who started with zero computer using skills have learned the basics. The applicant NGO reached the target values, the retired people participated on the courses, and they developed their IT skills. The beneficiaries were involved in brainstorming in order to come up with the project idea, and they contributed to the implementation of the project. The beneficiaries participated in the courses. The participants could see that the training was effective because those results could never been achieved alone by self-education. The fact that participants were trained in club development guarantees the sustainability of the results.
