Summary of project results

The most spectacular parts of the project were the dance movement theatre performances created by different social groups of Piliscsaba. The structured improvisation-based art events were performed by people with mixed abilities: the residents of the SILO disability care home (people with physical disabilities/wheelchair users), the movement group leaders (dance movement professionals from Artman Association), and volunteers from the local community of Piliscsaba. The movement group process was supported by an experinced dancer with physical disability, who is a member of Artman Association.and performer at its mixed ability dance group. The short-term goal of the project was to initiate connections between the disabled residents of SILO Independent Life Centre and the local community of Piliscsaba.Furthermore, the project also aimed to change already established relationships between able and disabled people to challenge stereotypes and deepen real connections on a different level. The motto of the project was the ’accessibility of the mind’. The general long-term objectives of the project were to challenge social inequality and change the attitude towards people with disabilities. Furthermore, the project intented to develop smaller communities by initiating and mantaining mutually benefitial conrtibutions based on shared values.
