Description

One of the most apparent problems of social groups living in extreme poverty is satisfying their winter heating needs. The project can serve as a good example for civil organisations operating in other settlements, highlighting that the issue of energy poverty needs to be addressed, on both technological and social level. The goal of the biomass briquette- and doors and windows programme is to improve homes and achieve self-sufficiency; as well as in the long run, aiding cost reduction. Summary of project results

The winter is especially difficult who live here. Improving housing conditions was as an objective of the project. With a carpentry workshop and the right skills the implementers will be able to maintain a longterm project, with demolished materials Their objective was to involve 30 families, 20 household survey and by 12 doors and openings repairing and insulation. In addition their goal was to create the infrastructure background and professional training of 4 people. These goals were fulfilled. The most important effect is the development of self-maintenance skills, promotion of an attitude change through surveying the condition of the houses, the knowledge transfer of the joinery and insulation tools, the repairing and making of windows and doors, insulation.The planned results were achieved. The beneficiaries were absolutely and fully involved in the activites.
