Description

The aim of the programme is to make local producers of Baja and its surroundings as well as their products visible, accessible and valuable. Local stakeholders - namely (1) local producers offering high quality products, (2) local population longing for healthy and delicious local foods, and (3) local businesses such as restaurants, shops, rural tourism service providers being able to provide market opportunities for the offer and demand - will be motivated to acquire new, sustainable knowledge and to cooperate with each other by the means of the creation of a high quality local product brand, and the implemention of a communication and information campaign.

Summary of project results

In response to the declining offer and demand of local products of Baja and its surroundings the project aimed to make healthy products of local producers more valuable and accessible to customers. The project has successfully achieved this target by improving the local quality brand „Vedd a helyit!” and promoting better communication as well as cooperation between local producers, customers, businesses and decision-makers. Project activities included market research, the development of a local producer database, oganizing producer and customer clubs, local fairs and festivals, community events, trainings, lectures and an extensive local marketing campaing. These have promoted both producers to become more efficient and competitive participants of the local economy and local population to be more health and environmentally conscious, and as such, the project has contributed to the revitalization of the local economy.
