The project IN EQUAL PARTS CITIZENSHIP responds to the need of the TIME BANKS of improving their strategies of Community intervention and organisational development and is oriented to promote the active citizenship and part of the already existing net of TIME BANKS in Andalucía, Cataluña and Madrid. The project outcomes are (amongst others): a) Encourage the participation of the vulnerable young people on the TIME BANKS b) Improve the gender equity under the wing of TIME BANKS and promote social uses of time that encourages the equality between men and women c) Foster the participation of the foreign people on the TIME BANKS and create from those citizen groups d) Increase the number of NGO's, educative and social resources linked with TIME BANKS within their territory. The most appropriate options to satisfy the needs and demands expressed by the active citizens mobilized by TIME BANKS are: a) Promote activities and products of education and training as Workshops b) Develop activities of mutual learning c) Create a participative group and develop a Guide about Governance and Community Integration on the TIME BANKS.
Summary of project results
The Project has reached 74.496 beneficiaries, a 60% of them women, and has contributed to strengthen a support ecosystem for the Time Banks in Catalonia, Madrid and Andalusia. It has generated cross-sectorial networks that influence in the time management from a gender approach and six cross-cutting coalitions between time banks and other local organisations, improving the governance of the time banks. Some long-term tools have been developed during the project: travelling exhibition and three manuals (one on non-discrimination, other on poverty in childhood and another on governance and community in time banks).
