Description

North Polygon in Seville, as an area where social transformation is needed. A comprehensive plan which sets in a coordinated manner the work to be performed by Government and by a NGO in the area. It is expected to accomplish an improved collaboration between institutions working in the area in order to coordinate all efforts targeted at specific groups located in the area of social transformation that is needed in the north polygon. This objectives will be achieved by creating a real and permanent tool to articulate the work of all entities in different fields and generate a best practice to be transferred to other areas in Andalusia. Also, through a methodology based on community social participation, by creating working groups that will focus on different topics (employment, education, health, gender and citizen participation). The direct beneficiaries will be the entities that participate in various working groups.

Summary of project results

The Newtork “Sevilla Norte” is weaven: Sixty public and private organisations working in the north of Seville have joined forces in order to reach common goals. This network results in improved coordination of the activities in the field and therefore a better response to the existing needs. The permanent spaces open for dialogue have promoted common strategies and have gotten the NGOs and administration closer. The “Sevilla Norte” network is an observatory so the public authorities have a real and effective contact with the area reality. Employment is the field that was developed the most organizing the Employment Fair so companies and job seekers get closer. The Network keeps on working with the companies and is already planning the second employment Fair. Awareness raising and training activities have contributed to strengthen the bonds and have common priorities (respect for diversity and real equality) that should guide the joint work. Leading a project like this made the promoter realise that the end is not the NGO itself but a collective aim, which influences positively AESIM and promotes that a community perspective rules every organisation’s work.
