Description

The main goal of the project is the development of an advanced, reliable and easy to install electricity meter solution to improve the energy efficiency of domestic and industrial installations. The main feature of the proposed solution for energy measurement is the insertion of broadband PLC communication. The broadband (B-PLC) technology is catching on as an excellent solution to many challenges in the industrial context. The key advantage of the proposed UVAX communication system is: - transmission over the public network, while providing communication over long distances. - because the bandwidth of the signal is higher than the systems PLC. The proposal allows UVAX to make this system generally available to the public and to introduce new technology which is adapted to new methodology of energy optimization.

Summary of project results

UVAX Concepts, through this project has tried to reach a sustanaible, economic and effective answer to the growing group of users interested on having safe electrical supply . SMART METER is a technical tool that works as a part of an inteligent system consisting on an electric meter that registers electricity consume and sends data to net system's operator to monitor it and generate bills. With all this information, consumers are able to directly control and regulate their individual use. The main objectives were saving energy, equilibrate energetic market, making a usable and parametric system, improving supplier selection, saving energy and money with precise measures and also get information of each 15', reducing operating times and avoiding maintenance problems. At the end of the project UVAX has generate a tested solution that solves the main problems using a specific hardware and a new software to measure that could be seen as a new way to work in energy measuring area.
