Description
Estonian Academy of Arts has a long tradition in partnership with Norwegian art, architecture and design universities. The cooperation in recent years has grown and there is mutual interest on both sides to increase cooperation. The goals were achieved to some extent - had the project been continuous, the results would also have reflected this. Unfortunately the funding phase is ending now and there will be a gap in certainty on knowing how the collaboration could continue. The fields of particular interest for the EAA are: sustainable design and architecture, fine arts, conservation and cultural heritage. There are several narrow fields in design and architecture education that are of particular interest, i.e systems Oriented Design with ID, IX and SD in AHO, grounds of teaching visual communication in AHO, fine arts in Tromso and cultural heritage in 9 NTNU. In response we are interested in sharing our unique expertise in crafts: leather art and design, drawing, jewellery and blacksmithing, glass art and ceramics. We expect to develop more projects with our Norwegian partners and enhance mobility flows both ways.
Summary of project results
The project outcome results in enhanced cooperation with Norwegian partners. It was reached throughout various forms of cooperation during the project. The biggest problem was to receive all signed bilateral agreements as originals. It seems a bit old-fashion demand and ended up us in need of dropping a few good partners, since they did not send the files in due time.Desired result is futher collaboration and projects with all partners. However, it is difficult to achive through a bumpy funding mechanism. There should be no gaps between the funding periods. It's probably possible to create interim evaluation and that would lead to continuity in the partnerships. All valued the experience highly. The partners were all carefully handpicked and therefore it is obvious that the project could only end with perfect results.
Summary of bilateral results
Friendly and helpful. No problems occurred.
