Summary of project results

Rogosi manor houses a branch of Haanja school and a nursery school. It is situated in a very remote area. The aim of the project was to activate local community, and to create new community and tourism services. In the frames of the project different trainings, including guiding, and study tours were organised to local people to enhance their activity, inspiration, entrepreneurship and networking. The apple squeezer and juice press were bought to provide needed community services. The piano bought for the manor has enabled to rent the premises for concerts and festive events. New tourism services are based on local heritage and traditions. The target group of services varies from private visitors to organised children and adult groups. Several new annual traditions were created like a theatre spectacle. The project was a success and was awarded as the Achievement of the Year of Haanja Municipality. The project improved the local life quality, supported sustainable regional development, respect and responsibility for cultural heritage and activated local community. The project enabled the creation of new jobs and has laid ground on the broader cooperation between the tourism sites of the area.
