Summary of project results
In Estonia there are currently 17 local food networks called OTT (in Estonian Otse Tootjalt Tarbijale which stands for Directly from Producer to Consumer) and 11 of them have grown into fully functioning organisations. The aim of the project was to streamline the functioning OTT network activities, policies of its members and promote locally grown food. The target groups were all active OTT networks (see
www.eestiott.ee) , and the new or starting OTT networks . To achieve the aimd workshops in different parts of Estonia in cooperation with local active OTT networks were organised. At the same time a survey aws carried out among consumers to understand the way of thinking of OTT's producers and consumers and what to keep in mind when encouraging new organisations and producers to join OTT and establish new food networks. A video was produced to encourage the growth of local food networks (available at
www.eestiott.ee). As a result of the project, there are now new groups (5 groups at the time of project completion) interested in joining OTT, organising food network in their village or part of town and thus, promote sustainable way of life and locally grown food.
