Description
Estonian Association of Sleeping School offers help and support for families in shaping sleeping habits of children. The project will improve the quality of this service, as the staff of the NGO will be trained, and four training programs for children and parents will be developed and conducted. In addition, a network seminar will be held, the services of the NGO will be more available for the target group, the Facebook community of parents will increase and analysis will be made on parents’ feedback. The project’s beneficiaries are parents and professionals working with children - kindergarten and class teachers, social workers, social educators, child protection workers, family nurses, family workers and other social, educational and health care practitioners. Cooperation will be made with various health, social and educational institutions.
Summary of project results
The project’s activities were directed to improving consultation (inc. e-consultation) and training services for families and specialists dealing with children's sleeping problems. New training course was developed and tested, e-consultation system was updated, one stuff member has raised her qualification as a family consulter. Two elaborated training courses were: 2-h course for parents facing kids' trouble sleeping and 8-h course for specialists dealing with sleep disorders in children. Both courses were tested. 8 training sessions for speacialists were conducted in cooperation with partners - developing center Avitus, Pelgulinna maternity hospital and others. Information service has been improved - during the project period 117 e-consultaions were provided to families via updated consultaion sistem on NGO's web-site. 4 families at risk got free of charge consultations on spot. As a result of the project's activities Facebook community of the organisation has been increased by 503 persons.
