Description

The aim of the project is to develop Estonian Social Enterprise Network as an advocacy organisation for the social enterprises in Estonia. The target groups for the project are social enterprises, ministries, political bodies, business consultants and also the general public still mostly unaware of the concept of social entrepreneurship. The Network was created to support the growth and development of social enterprises in Estonia and the advocacy work is central for success. For that the Network will map the social impact of social enterprises and their economical contribution, analyse best practicies, create a platform for future work (needs and statements), and find ways to improve statistics concerning social enterprises and their impact. The partners of the project are two Estonian organizations that have expertise knowledge in civil society and social enterprise field: the Good Deed Foundation and the Network of Estonian Nonprofit Organizations.

Summary of project results

The aim of the project was to develop Estonian Social Enterprise Network (ESEN) as advocacy organisation for the social enterprises in Estonia. The target groups for this were the social enterprises, ministries, political bodies, business consultants and also the general public still mostly unaware of the concept of social entrepreneurship. This project laid a strong foundation for the future advocacy work and helped to take the organization to next quality level. For example an advocacy manifest was created in co-operation with members and partners, ESEN was involved in amendments to laws and regulations, new public sector organizations are aware of social enterprises, 31 social enterprises received advice on communicating their impact, mapping of social enterprises was published, learning materials were well received by social entrepreneurship consultants.
