Description

This project focuses on women returning to the labour market after maternity leave, looking for work in vain because they also take care of their small children. Many of them would like to start a business, however they do not have sufficient information or support from their environment. That is why we are creating a co-working centre, focusing on support for women in launching their business activity, offering them professional training as well as adequate care for their children. We will also help them find appropriate work positions, as can be reconciled with taking care of children. At the same time we will focus on promotion and raising awareness among employers of forms and advantages of flexible work schemes for this particular target group, which will result from a strengthened cooperation between education institutions, companies, local administration and NGOs. This activity will be accompanied by an information campaign publicizing the goals and outputs of the project in all its scope as well as production and distribution of print material with the theme of gender equality.

Summary of project results

This project was aimed at supporting women returning to the labour market after their maternity leave. We opened a co-working centre, which was the only one in our district. We provided a fully furnished shared space for work, professional care of children and their education, free-time activities, business counseling, or help while finding a job. Other workshops, a retraining course, and also motivational courses were held. We attempted to increase employers’ awareness of the forms and advantages of flexible forms of work via courses and informative brochures. Furthermore, we strove to implement a regional informational campaign focused on equal opportunities for men and women. Overall, we supported more than 53 women, and 7 of them started their own business. In the future, after the project’s completion, we will operate a co-working centre and provide babysitting and children’s education. The project had no involved partners.
