Semínko Kindergarten supports ecological education and environment friendly attitude, using the School education programme to inspirate other subjects in the section. During the realisation, we update the School education programme, adding latest findings in pre-school education. We organize 10 excursions, we present the project and its outputs taking part of 5 conferences. We are going to establish a cooperation with Charles University (College of Education), founded by contract. School garden, our main instrument for environmental education will be enriched - new outplanting for biodiversity will be realised, new interactive components demonstrating importance of renewable resources wil be erected. We link up 380 persons. Target groups included are specialists, related authorities, parents.
Summary of project results
The Kindergarten „Little Seed“ is the ecological kindergarten with an emphasis on education for sustainable development and healthy lifestyle since its inception in 2003. It is trying to be an inspiration for preschool education in the Czech Republic by its approach to environmental education and upbringing. The School Educational Program of the kindergarten was evaluated and subsequently updated thanks to the project. Its principles were introduced to more than three hundred participants of excursions and educational activities in the field of early childhood education, including students of The Faculty of Education at the Charles University in Prague. The kindergarten could share good practice, and also realized the adaptations in the school garden with the help of hundreds of volunteers. So the garden was became a suitable instrument for The School Educational Program. The school garden also was succeeded in ratings and now it is certified like a natural garden. The kindergarten also received a certificate called Parents welcome. Nowadays it is ranked among a network of kindergartens with exemplary cooperation with parents. The team used the process of professionalisation of the organization offering by the project. The team has managed to develop a strategic and subsequent action plans, participated in the training of project management and team supervision. Thanks to the project the team of the kindergarten had the chance to influence attitudes of hundreds of current and future teachers, tutors, guides, also parents and other people with an interest in early childhood education. Activities undertaken on the basis of The School Educational Program also affects preschool children, not just those who attend to this kindergarten, but also those whose teachers had the opportunity to get to know The Kindergarten „Little Seed“.
