Description

As a result of the difficult situation they face, families of children with disability can become socially isolated, lacking necessary information. This project focuses on supporting and assisting 40 children with dissability and their families in the region of southern Bohemia from the moment they are born until 7 years of age. Early care consultants visit families regularly, striving to stimulate the kids and to build capacities of the parents, so that they were able to raise their children in a natural environment. They distribute specialized aid and equipment, they organize meetings to share information and experience between families. The quality of social service provided to 20 children will improve through building expertise of the early care consultants, 20 children with multiple disability will make use of the enlarged offer of rehabilitation and compensation aid and equipment and 16 families will participate in the two week-long leave stays during the summer break.

Budějovice enabled better cooperation with other early care providers and sharing of experience. Buying new physiotherapeutic and compensative aids for the rental service lead to extension of rental services. In summer 2015 two relieving summer camps for clients took place. Each lasted 1 week and 15 families participated in. Families shared information and their experiences, children gained new skills and knowledge, and experienced joy and game within a group.
