Description
The main objective of the project is to increase the success of children from the Roma community in the mainstream and help to change the family environment in preventing socially pathological behaviour. The project creates the conditions for a successful all-round development of children: pre-school club for children from 3 up to 6 years old, school club training and preparation for children 6 to 15 years, both in the city of Kadaň and Prunéřov, so children will have a chance to work consistently, be motivated for further education and cope with compulsory school attendance (succeed in mainstream education). The aim of the project is to provide support for children from the target group to be sufficiently prepared to enter elementary school and to handle school. We also intend to help their parents to achieve sufficient power that is absolutely necessary to support children in their learning and healthy development.
Summary of project results
The aim of the project was to focus on the children and parents from the Roma community and encourage them to succeed in mainstream education. This project was necessary due to the fact that target group has an unsatisfactory school results and absence; at the first stage they lack teaching aids; it is noticeable that they are not thinking about school at home and that parents often do not create adequate environment to prepare for school. On the second level there are also problems with the lack of doing school homework and other responsibilities, lack of homework, not wearing and losing school supplies. Parents of preschool children then do not put children to kindergarten even though their entry into kindergarten is very important for their education and further development within mainstream society. We have achieved the planned / achieved results through two main key activities - Klubík Preschool and School preparation; and also due to the individual approach to the individual families and their needs. The important thing was to listen to their expectations, concerns and respect their faults and imperfections. The output is the experience processed in the methodologies and also the number of supported families and the overall success of each individual plans.
