Through the project we want to improve and expand the Support and Respite services targeted at existing foster families and original biological families of children placed in foster care, and as well at children in foster care. Project will extend and improve the offer of social prevention services to vulnerable families through specific social, educational and psychological counselling and through providing outreach social activation services. There will be act of prevention among the children and youth threatened by educational-learning difficulties or socially pathological phenomena.The project will prevent among their biological families a disintegration and unnecessary transfer of children to institutional care or to foster care. Within the scope of provider we allow specialized training courses to our employees who are working with target groups to sustain the quality of services and the impact on the target group. The project activities will work with more than 150 children and their families who are at risk of their breakup having social or financial problems they cannot handle themselves and thus seek help.
Summary of project results
The project was implemented in order to extend and improve the range of social prevention services in the organization STŘED, z. ú. The project is intended for the children placed at risk in the Vysočina Region, the South Moravian Region and Znojmo Region. The target groups were consisted of biological families that are at risk of break - up, or whom children were taken away, as well as the families whose children were placed at risk of possible taking away because of their parents´ neglectful care. Furthermore, a significant group was foster families, especially the ones having an agreement on the practice of social and legal protection signed at STŘED, z.ú., or at the municipal office situated in the Vysočina region. Thanks to the project, two new supportive and relieving services were created such as psychological counselling and field – outpatient social services for children at risk and their families. For the whole time of the project, 201 children were supported including their families in most of the cases. Within the professional psychological counselling there were 702 consultancies with 91 children in the range of 860 hours. The social workers intervened with 39 young people 279 times in the field and did 480 visits in the range of 393 hours. Three employees passed five courses and broadened their professional skills related to the work with target groups. The organization has signed cooperation contracts with seven cities – Trebic, Znojmo, Jemnice, Dacice, Moravské Budějovice, Pelhřimov a Humpolec. In autumn 2014 and 2015 there were professional conferences on the topic of foster care that were attended by more than 100 professionals. The project had a clearly positive impact on the target groups. The people, who established a relationship with us, contact us repeatedly and solve their complex life situations which they did not solve or neglected in the past.
