Description

Project objective: Improved cooperation between the authorities and relevant stakeholders including non-governmental organizations, in assisting victims of trafficking Training of related institutions representatives on the practical execution of the Transnational mechanism for referring and carrying victims of THB; One-day meeting in quarters with predominated Roma population - prevention campaign providing information of the threats and consequences connected “THB”. Dissemination of informative anti THB materials and raising the awareness; Study visits in Bulgaria and partner countries with the purpose of sharing experience and best practices in protection, recovering and reintegration of victims of THB; Provision of short to mid-term reintegration of 50 victims of trafficking and Crisis accommodation; Provision of empowerment program for the short to mid-term reintegration; Provision of Long-term reintegration for 10 victims of trafficking - individually tailored plans for each victim, financial support; Safe return and transportation of trafficked VoTs to Bulgaria - 10 victims;

Summary of project results

The project was focused on promoting, developing and intensifying the coordination, cooperation and mutual understanding among Law enforcement agencies /LEA/, social workers and NGOs in Bulgaria and partner countries, other national and international authorities and to increase the effectiveness at referring, helping, protecting and reintegration of victims of THB, through the practical application of the Transnational mechanism for referring and caring for the victims of THB between Bulgaria, as a country of origin and partner countries through enhancement of the technical and professional capacity of the experts. The transnational character of the phenomenon required joint efforts of all institutions working against human trafficking at national, regional and international level. The project aimed to protect, rehabilitate and reinstate victims of trafficking in human beings of as well as it contributed to overcoming the consequences of human trafficking and reintegrate victims in the society by providing assistance and support. That was achieved through successful implementation of a mechanism and systems for integrated support and transnational assistance to the victims of THB.
