Summary of project results

The idea of the "Partnerships 2020" project was based on the fact that the NGOs in the region were not recognized as partners in the planning and implementation of local development projects. This situation was further deteriorated by the limited funding opportunities for NGOs from the operational programmes during the previous programming period. The results of the project were presented in front of The District Council for regional development of Ruse and in media. The aim of the project was on the one hand to increase the capacity of NGOs in Ruse district in project management and on the other hand to create cross-sectoral partnership between NGOs and local authorities. The objective was reached as the planned activities were correctly timely accomplished. Important outcome was the elaboration of 16 joint project ideas, specific for each municipality, during the meetings in the 8 municipalities of Ruse district. The project ideas will become part of the respective municipal development plans. Two trainings for the NGOs in the field of project management and cross-sectoral partnership were delivered, providing also good practices and information about European funding possibilities for the programming period 2014 – 2020. The project beneficiaries - the NGO representatives - were directly involved in all project activities. The main benefit was the established partnership between NGOs and local authorities from the 8 municipalities in Ruse region.
