Summary of project results

The project aimed at overcoming discrimination, xenophobia, hate speech and intolerance by developing the artistic talent of the young people and their interest in expression and art from childhood and adolescence on when these important values are shaped. One of the major project goals was to encourage children and young people to make sense and express an active position through art. The project resulted in a discussion of the important values: recognition of each human being, respect, deeper understanding and closer rapport with the “other, different”; developing a friendly attitude, active expression of a position with the language of art, boosting the confidence of these young and talented people that they have the power to change the thinking of the community through their message and personal example. The project achieved the following results: The Speech of the Young National Competition for Arts and Talents was held with special Legends for the Roma Awards; an art workshop (for more than 90 participants) and a summer camp (for 30 young people) were organized; 5 books with own contributions of the children and young people taking part under the project were compiled; a DVD with youth art was produced; more than 15 presentations of the project results were delivered with representatives of various ethnic and social groups.
