Description

The purpose of the Project is the improvement of the level of professional skills of the region's medical personnel, increase of the safety of newborns and reduction of the frequency of severe complications, with the overall objective of improving the survivability, health condition and safety of newborns in the Lodz voivoidship. Reference is made to the application dated 12 April 2007 and any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: - Organisation and project management, - Purchase of training equipment (32 newborn head models, 32 incubation sets, 7 newborn models for resurrection practice), - Initiation of the training sessions for nurses and physicians. - Purchase of equipment for the regional units (5 basic respirators), - Purchase of equipment for the applicant's intensive care unit (ICU) (4 vital function monitors and 5 advanced respirators) , and - Publicity, organisation of the scientific conference and dissemination of results. The Project Promoter is the Medical University in Lodz, Poland. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Polish Ministry of Health provides at least 15 percent of the estimated eligible Project costs.
