Description
The purpose of the Project is to improve information on and control of flood risk management and land use planning in the San sub-basin, with the overall objective of minimizing flood damages in the Upper Vistula water management area as a result of improved compliance with the EU Water Framework Directive and the EU Flood Risk Directive. Reference is made to the application, dated 11 April 2007 and any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The project shall include the following activities and results: - Determination of direct flood risk areas in the San sub-basin, including determining of flood range zones for Przemysl town two dimensional modelling, - Elaboration of flood risk area maps, organised so as to be made available to users in electronic form, - Creation and population of a database related to land development regulations for the flood risk areas, - Purchase of hard- and software, - Elaboration of a related training package and training in the methods of use of the results, and - Project management and publicity. The Project Promoter is the Regional Board for Water Management in Krakow (Regionalny Zarzad Gospodarki Wodnej w Krakowie). The Focal Point shall ensure that the Project Promoter provides at least 15 percent of the estimated eligible project costs.
