Description

The purpose of the Project is to better understand the mechanism which determines the development of late negative effects of prematurity, with the overall objective of reduce the incidence of late complications of prematurity. Reference is made to the application dated 6 November 2007 and any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: - purchase of equipment, - publicity measures, - introduce and implement animal-based experiment, - clinical study, - evaluation of gene expression, - complete statistical analyses of research results, and - present reports during international and national medical congresses and publish results in leading paediatric journals. The Project Promoter is the Jagiellonian University Medical College. Subject to national law the Project shall be implemented in partnership with the Department of Paediatric Research at the Rikshospital Medical Centre, Oslo Norway. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education provides at least 15 percent of the estimated eligible Project costs.
