Description

The purpose of the Project is to acquire scientific knowledge and improve the land use management in the Olkusz Ore-bearing Region (OOR) area, with the overall objective to improve the quality of the environment. Reference is made to the application dated 31 October 2007 and any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: - Management; - Various studies on the species diversity in the Olkusz Ore-bearing Region (OOR); - Identification of the types of vegetation and mapping their distribution in the OOR; - Various studies on the soil (including chemical and physical properties, microbial activity and fauna); - Various studies of the forest patches in the OOR; - Guidelines for local natural environment management prepared; - Publish publications and Dissertations (Master’s and Bachelor’s); and - Publicity The Project Promoter is the W. Szafer Institute of Botany, Polish Academy of Sciences. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Ministry of Science and Higher Education provides at least 15 percent of the estimated eligible project costs.
