Description
The purpose of the Project is to promote the tourist attractions and the natural environment of the "EGO" (Elk, Goldap, Oleko) sub-region in Warminsko-Mazurskie Voivodships with the overall objective of ecotourism development and improved cooperation between the bordering regions of Poland. Reference is made to the application dated 10 August 2007 and to any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: - organise workshops and a study tour (with participants from Poland, Russia and Ukraine) to evaluate successful models of ecotourism in the Halmstadt region, Sweden; - develop marketing materials for EGO tourist attractions and participation in international trade fairs; - develop a multi-language internet site for the promotion of tourism; - organise an international conference for marketing EGO ecotourism; - management and promotion. The Project Promoter is the Olecko Poviat. Subject to national law, the Project shall be implemented in partnership with the Elk and Goldap Poviats, the Halland County (Sweden), the Guwiesk Region and the Ozersk District in the Kaliningrad Oblast (Russian Federation), and with the Sychow Area of Lwow City (Ukraine). The Focal Point shall ensure that the Project Promoter provides at least 15 percent of the total estimated eligible Project costs.
