The situation at these days is characterized by the disappearance of personal relationships and people's interest in their immediate vicinity. Traditions, interest in cultural customs, cultural and historical monuments are getting into the last place of people interest.The young generation is losing interest in traditional values. It is therefore necessary to carry out the activities to pique their interest in the immediate environment and territory. It is important to focus on balanced social and economic development of border areas focusing on groups of people in difficult social situation, especially children from these socially disadvantaged areas. The objective of project is a mitigation of existing barriers to cross-border Cooperation.Establishment of the cross – border network for the active cooperation of partners from Slovakia and Ukraine in the field of cross border area development.Project outputs: maintenance of cultural and historical specifications of cross border area, solving of common social problems of vulnerable groups of border regions by innovative way, - support of the common activities on the local and regional area that contribute to the cross border area development, realisation of people to people activities for general public
Summary of project results
The project was created due to the need to give support to partnerships in the sphere of cross-border cooperation. The beneficiary of the project was in a long term cooperation with individual partners and at the same time carried out activities in the border area. The partners of the project displayed long term interest in the realisation of activities which are targeting youth work and experience Exchange. These activities were difficult to carry out due to the lack of finances. Without the support of Cross-border cooperation programme, no exchange stays, concerts or conferences would have been possible in such measure while partners would also have no means to experience the cultural and historical specifics of border territory. Also, the mutual getting to know each other and creation of partnerships would not be possible. The implementation of this project thus contributed significantly to further social and economic development of the border region. The partnership network which was created allows its members to carry on in further cooperation. The project allowed for the partnership networks to be sustained and allowed for the creation of new networks on the side of Slovak and UA partners. The project allowed for social and economic development of a border region, for mutual getting to know, experience exchange, the increase of social awareness of a border region and for the sustainability of cultural values on both sides. Carried out activities: • one initial conference • one exchange stay for children in Slovakia • one summer camp for children from Slovakia and Ukraine in Ukraine • one panel of experts/methodology seminar • Memorandum on cooperation 2015-2020 • Slovak and Ukrainian gala concert in St. Nicolas church • One final conference. As much as 236 persons attended project acitivites.
