Description

The project is focused on improving relationships, connections and culture perception and mutual understanding between Slovakia and Ukraine. The project is situated to cultural, historical and spiritual centre in a border area, in Spišské Podhradie. Objectives - awake of an art, support a spirit of the art in young people, support of tourism and creating new partnerships in art and cultural spheres. Achievements - increase of partnerships, involving artists to the project activities, increase of activities on both sides Outputs - spiritual and social development of the population, supporting knowledge of regional traditions, cultural heritage and traditional crafts Target groups to achieve are young adults, children and Roma. The project realization provides to partners - strengthen cooperation and initiative of the city with foreign partners in the field of culture, history and art.

Summary of project results

The goal of the project was: 1/ lowering barriers in crosscountry cooperation between Ukraine and Slovakia in the area of culture and art 2/to improve relationships, partnerships, cultural perception and mutual understanding between neighbouring countries Slovakia and Ukraine 3/ the project activities were planned in border area Zakarpathian Ukraine , Uzhgorod and in Spišské Podhradie which is part of the UNESCO herritage. Project wanted to highlight this region and to contribute not only to cultural development but also increase tourism thanks to cultural events organised 4/ the targeted groups of the project activities were youth, children and Roma population.Project managed to support existing partnerships and established new partnerships or cooperation networks by: 1/creating of partherships 2/realization of planned project activities 3/establishing of new jobs, which we need for quality realization of project activities 4/involvement of Slovak and Ukrainian artists into project activities. Outputs of the project: 1/creation of new and support existing partnerships in area of Slovak - Ukrainian cooperation 2/implementation of planned activities for better cooperation in job services, educational institutions and employers 3/high participation was secured by pulicity of activities 4/the project activities created cooperative structures, which will secure long-term functioning of further recognition of SR and UA in the area of culture and art 5/created partnerships with the highest institutions: Ministry of culture of the Slovak republic and Embassy of Ukraine in Slovak Republic 6/on regional level it created partnership with city of Spišské Podhradie and Prešov self-governing region to support our project goals 7/support employment and cooperation between educational institutions - elementary schools and art schools 8/the project has direct impact on upbringing and education of targeted groups - we involved them into cultural events by direct involvement on realized activities 8/project cultural activities - exhibitions, festivals - they supported mutual recognition of SR and UA 9/it introduced Ukrainian culture to citizens of Spišské Podhradie and also to great amount of visitors by events on Spiš Castle and Spiš Capitule by our project activities 10/project activities increased interest of tourists in this UNESCO region and supported tourism.

Summary of bilateral results

Partnership with donor Norwegian partner Embla keramikk shift the results and outputs of the project significantly higher. We implemented rich experiences of our partner on international level which they shared with us by phone, email and on personal meetings in Norway and Slovakia to our project activities. We strengthen cultural and art bilateral relationships by personal visit of our donor partner, introducing cultural enviroment and artists and his involvement on the results of our project.
