Description

The project is oriented towards employment development of the most vulnerable groups of unemployed people in border regions - the Roma and young unemployed people, both of whom generally have their potential devalued, or simply leave the region. This worsening socioeconomic situation in the economically weak border regions of Slovakia / Ukraine demands the development of innovative and original solutions to this problem. The project´s aim is to create, within this weakly developed border region, conditions for a network of partners and unemployed people, so as to improve the employment levels of Roma, young people and the vulnerable. The project will strengthen and develop the network of partners for a social economy and employment in concrete form. This will concentrate on the ongoing analysis of job opportunities and their accessibility to unemployed people in border regions. It will especially support initiatives leading to increased employment of Roma, young people and the vulnerable. The partner network for a social economy will be supported through the provision of information about innovative approaches and technologies, which are useful for the creating jobs for unemployed people. It will also include a consulting service in the sphere of job creation and work with unemployed people. The contribution of the project will be the steady and systematic transfer of information in and across both regions, and the creation of common strategies for employment development, thanks to a well-functioning network of partners for a social economy. It will be a systematic and regular employment market, where unemployed people, representatives from municipalities and employers, and representatives from non-governmental organizations will exhibit and present innovative technologies. The output of the project is to create a network of partners for the social economy. The network of partners for a social economy is the secondary target group.

Summary of project results

The main objective of the project was to reduce existing barriers to cross-border cooperation. The main objective of the project was to create conditions for a network of partners and unemployed who will influence the employment of Roma, young unemployed and hard-to-employ, in conditions of economically weakly developed border regions. The objectives have been achieved as partnership networks and structures have been set up to help sustain the long-term goals and ensure lasting change. Thanks to the activities of the project, we managed to provide an employer-employee link to ensure the development of employment in the given regions. Experienced studies are also of great benefit, to a large extent, the benefits of the Ukrainian partner. One of the main activities of the project was the reconstruction of the premises - building modifications, followed by training modules, employment exchanges, exchange of innovative technologies. The information workshops were also beneficial for the Ukrainian partner. Based on these workshops, we exchanged cross-border experiences, provided ideas and guidance on innovation and procedures to reduce barriers to cross-border cooperation. Achieved results are the refurbished premises that continue to serve as a training center for the unemployed, for trainings and exchanges of innovative technologies for partners that we have gained thanks to the project. The planned number of partners involved in the project was 17, but the project involved 18 partner institutions. The planned number of initiatives aimed at better co-operation of employment services, educational institutions, employers was 14, but the actual number of initiatives under the project was 17. The number of persons involved in the project activities increased from 443 to 324 during the implementation. the media was informed by professional and general public about the principles and forms of social business. The operators of the social economy entities were also informed about the possibilities of development through networking. The effectiveness of partnerships in the development of the region and the possibilities of using the own resources of the region and the municipalities The information workshops organized on both sides were also of great benefit to both partners, and both partners were able to look into the issue and thus contribute to new solutions.
